Zapier QR Code Automation | Connect to 5,000+ Marketing Apps

ZodQR integrates with Zapier, allowing you to automate workflows whenever your QR codes are scanned. With Zapier, you can connect ZodQR to thousands of apps such as Google Sheets, Slack, Notion, HubSpot, Airtable, and many more.

This integration uses a workspace-level token for authentication and includes a trigger that fires every time a QR code is scanned.

What You Can Do with Zapier

  • Send scan data to Google Sheets
  • Notify your team in Slack when someone scans a QR
  • Add scan events to Airtable or Notion
  • Create CRM leads when your marketing QR codes receive scans
  • Automate reporting and analytics pipelines

Zaps run automatically whenever your QR codes are scanned.

Supported Trigger

Trigger: QR Scanned

This trigger activates every time any QR code in the workspace is scanned.

The Zap will receive scan information such as:

  • QR code ID
  • QR type
  • Scan timestamp
  • Location (if available)
  • Device type
  • Browser
  • Language
  • Redirected URL
  • Workspace ID

You can use this data to automate notifications, logging, reporting, or syncing with external systems.

Generating a Zapier Integration Token

Each workspace can generate one token for Zapier authentication.

Steps to generate:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Zapier
  2. Select the workspace you want to integrate
  3. Click Generate Token
  4. Copy the generated token

Use this token during Zapier authentication.

Important Notes

  • Each workspace has exactly 1 active Zapier token
  • Generating a new token will:
    • Invalidate the current token immediately
    • Stop all Zaps using the old token
    • Require re-authentication in Zapier

For security, only workspace admins should generate or manage tokens.

Connecting ZodQR to Zapier

  1. Go to Zapier and create a new Zap
  2. Search for ZodQR as your app
  3. When Zapier asks for authentication:
    • Paste the token you generated from the ZodQR dashboard
    • Save and continue

Once authenticated, Zapier will fetch events from your workspace.

Creating a Zap Using the QR Scan Trigger

  1. Choose Trigger App: ZodQR
  2. Trigger Event: QR Scanned
  3. Choose Workspace: Automatically detected via token
  4. Test Trigger: Zapier will fetch recent scan data
  5. Choose Action App: (Google Sheets, Slack, Notion, etc.)
  6. Map scan fields to the action fields
  7. Turn on your Zap

Your automation is now active.

Example Use Cases

Log scans to Google Sheets

  • Track marketing campaigns
  • Monitor daily scan engagement

Slack notifications

  • Notify your team when a QR is scanned
  • Useful for events, feedback forms, or support QR codes

CRM lead creation

  • Automatically create leads when potential customers scan a QR
  • Connect with HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, etc.

Airtable or Notion databases

  • Build custom analytics dashboards
  • Store long-term scan history

Token Management

Because each workspace has only one active token:

  • Regenerating a token will break all existing Zaps
  • You must update Zapier authentication after generating a new token
  • Deleted or invalid tokens immediately stop all triggers from firing

Use token regeneration carefully.

Troubleshooting

Zap stopped working

  • The Zapier token may have been regenerated
  • Re-authenticate ZodQR in Zapier

No scan data appearing in Zapier

  • Verify the QR code belongs to the same workspace
  • Make sure Zap is turned on
  • Ensure the workspace token is valid

Authentication failed

  • Token expired or manually regenerated
  • Token pasted incorrectly
  • Workspace permissions changed

Trigger returns no sample data

  • Try scanning a QR code at least once
  • Wait a few seconds and retry fetching data
